Search for champion business driver begins

Many people view Nico Rosberg as the best driver in the world but what about the unsung heroes? Thousands of business drivers across Europe demonstrate skill and precision on the roads every single day.

To recognise these forgotten stars, we are launching a competition to crown the Driver of the Year for European business fleets.

Is your organisation committed to improving driving standards? If so, this is your chance to see how your employees compare to other business drivers across the continent.

The Webfleet Driver of the Year Awards have been launched to help promote safer and more responsible fleet driving standards and will rank drivers in two different categories – HGVs or LCVs/cars – across 14 countries.

Drivers will be ranked based on ‘real-life’ performance, with scores calculated according to incidents of harsh braking and steering per km/mile measured by Webfleet fleet management solution. So your drivers could put themselves in the position to win simply by driving safely and efficiently while completing their daily jobs.

Ten finalists will then compete for the grand title of European Driver of the Year at the Circuit de Catalunya race track in Barcelona on October 21.

Entries are now open, so if you think any of your drivers are the Rosberg of business fleets, this is your chance to nominate them.

Drivers can be entered into either of the competition’s two categories  in any of the following regions: Benelux (Belgium, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands), Nordics (Sweden and Denmark), France, Mediterranean (Italy, Portugal, and Spain), Central Europe (Austria, Germany, and Switzerland) and UKI (United Kingdom and Ireland).

For companies that want to participate but do not currently use Webfleet, a three-month trial offer is available.

For full details of the competition, registrations and rankings visit the Driver of the Year Awards homepage.
