datafactory AG announces that the company has been acquired by TomTom NV (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), a leading provider of personal navigation products. datafactory's well known WEBfleet technology now sets TomTom in the position to provide telematics solutions to business clients as well as to private users of TomTom's navigation products.

This acquisition provides us with the opportunity to add telematics solutions to our service offerings and enables TomTom to enter this market segment said TomTom's CEO, Harold Goddijn. Together with TomTom we can enlarge our strong market position and technological leadership in telematics and fleet management on the German and European market Thomas Schmidt, datafactory's CEO said.

The acquisition of datafactory by TomTom combines the WEBfleet service provided by datafactory with TomTom's well known brand for navigation products to become one of the leading Pan-European telematics suppliers.
