W.S. Dennison adopts Eco-Driving and reduces fuel and CO

London, July 30, 2012
Furniture delivery service W.S. Dennison has turned to fleet management technology from TomTom Business Solutions in a bid to slash fuel consumption for its entire vehicle fleet.

The Antrim-based company has installed TomTom’s LINK vehicle tracking devices and ecoPLUS fuel monitoring modules in 20 of their trucks, in a bid to improve efficiency, cut costs and to give it the tools to promote and monitor eco-friendly driver behaviour.

Pamela Riddell, Communication Manager, W.S Dennison says, The combination of TomTom solutions we have installed is working extremely well and has addressed our main issues which are driver behaviour, fuel cost and environmental factors. Not only have we benefited from a 15% reduction in fuel costs and CO2 emissions, we are making incredible savings on vehicle maintenance. We are excited about continuing our cost saving and carbon reduction programme with the new advancements in technology and functionality from TomTom.

Established in 1979 W.S Dennison has 50 employees in its operating centres in Antrim and Limerick and a fleet of 25 vehicles. The company provides a furniture delivery service direct from manufacturers such as Marks & Spencer and Sealy. The goods are then routed for delivery direct to households and businesses throughout Ireland from their Antrim and Limerick operating centres.

Giles Margerison, TomTom Business Solutions’ Director, UK & Ireland: It is great to see W.S. Dennison using our fleet management technology to reduce CO2 emissions and make significant cost savings in times when every penny counts; this in turn allows them to deliver an even more competitive service to their customers.
