With the introduction of vehicle maintenance planning TomTom Business Solutions is helping businesses with commercial vehicles to optimise vehicle efficiency and reduce carbon emissions as a result. By ensuring fleets are well-maintained and that driver performance is optimised, the energy efficiency of vehicles can be improved by as much as 10 percent, according to a recent research by the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions.
Effective maintenance planning coupled with TomTom technologies that improve driver performance, such as Active Driver Feedback, provides businesses with the tools to achieve these cost savings
said Thomas Schmidt, Managing Director TomTom Business Solutions. Costly repair bills can be avoided and the impact on the environment is minimized
The new tool enables companies to make use of the real measured mileage from the vehicle to plan their vehicle maintenance intervals. In addition, more efficient processes for vehicle maintenance minimise vehicle downtime and the associated business costs.
With an easy-to-read online maintenance overview fleet operators can keep tabs on forthcoming maintenance such as service intervals and annual car inspections. Users can create maintenance tasks per vehicle, copy them to vehicle groups, monitor their status and plan accordingly.
Maintenance scheduling complements the WEBFLEET offering and is instantly available, at no charge for the 13,000 business users spread across Europe, North America, South Africa and Australia.
